Initial research about chakra
I had a vague idea about chakras before Tanya walked me through the whole concept. The thought of creating a moving image piece about transformation through chakras excited me as it involved pre-production in the sense that it required us to do comprehensive and extensive research on the topic. So, we started off as a group before the posts were designated and in one of the initial meetings, it was decided that everyone would come up with their own research on the topic so we get familiar with the concept of it in every way possible and everyone is on the same page.
Chakra
To get acquainted with the concept of Chakras, I started off my research by watching various videos and reading blogs about everything about chakras and it’s detailed meaning and how our mind, body and spirit are connected through the 7 chakras. Meaning of each colour and it’s relation with the designated body part. Chakras’ one line explanation is that it is The intimate connection and flow of energy between the mind, body and soul through meditation leads to harmony.
7 Chakras
Muldhara chakra or Root chakra – Located between anus and genital area. Female power Kundalini or Shakti is residing here and lying dormant all the time. Kundalini is three and half coiled snake also called Bhujangini, Ishwari, Nadshakti.
When Kundalini is awakened it moves in an upward direction piercing all the Chakras finally reaches to Shahsra Chakra and merge with lord Shiva one reaches to higher level of consciousness after Kundalini is awakened. Mooldhara chakra stands for personal security, fulfilling the personal needs.
Swadhisthan Chakra or Sacral Chakra: Located at Sacral bone, it stands for sexuality feeling, well-being and pleasure.
Anahata or Heart Chakra : Anahata chakra is located behind the centre of chest. It stands for love and joy
Vishudhi or Purified centre: located in the neck region behind the throat. It gives the power to express thoughts and communication.
Ajna chakra or Third eye chakra: It is located in between the eye brows and stands for wisdom, intelligence and intuition.
Shahasra Chakra: It is the chief of all chakra and is located on the top of head. This chakra stands for spirituality and enlightenment.

On having a discussing about chakras with my mother as she religiously follows the preaching of yogi Sadhguru, she suggested me to watch his videos about the 7 chakras as they were relevant and appropriate.
Yogi, mystic and visionary, Sadhguru is a spiritual master with a difference. His life and work serve as a reminder that yoga is not an esoteric discipline from an outdated past, but a contemporary science, vitally relevant to our times.
