Critical Evaluation

I really like the final result that we created as a group. I feel that even though there were a few bumps in the road, overall the group worked well. We had a large number of meeting throughout the course of the semester and that I feel kept everyone in the loop.

As for me, I have never really directed before, so this was my first time directing. I didn’t really knew before this project, how a film production works and in that aspect this project has taught me a lot. I also really like the ‘experimental’ part of our course and brief. For this project, we experimented with various things and materials, we tried out filming paints in water with macro lens, we did microscope videography, we used Go Pros, Bolex, Drone and DSLR during the shoot and more.

It is unfortunate that we weren’t able to use our 16mm film in the project as there was an issue with the pressure plate. I would have loved to use that, but still I am really happy that we recorded digitally for back-up for all the shots, so this way we ddin’t loose the shots.

Overall, I am happy with the film and I feel that this project was a good learning experience.
